Problem Statement

" Design a movie multiplex information giver cum seat availability status indicator”
 

 

The proposed Application

Its a mobile based platform which can assist users in various processes involved in watching a movie at multiplex. These processes can be, booking of tickets,information about the movie, status of available ticket etc. The target user is the urban population living in major metropoliton cities, who have the smart phones and internet connectivity and uses utility based mobile application to satisfy their various needs.

The common problem identified with the users are
1. The incomplete information about the theatres for ex. what is the         screen size, how big the theatre is.
2. Many times the transaction fails and user looses their valuable time.
3. Watching movie is always a group thing, so ther is no platform                to connect  and make group decisions and suggestions.
4. Better sorting and selection solutions are expected by users.


System specifications and the attributes

1. Easy Search
2. Sorting of data as per user’s choice so user should have
     complete freedom to pick any point to access information
3.Watching a movie in a theatre is never an inividual task it is alway a       group thing, application should provide some platform to facilate           this. It may be through people feedback or group discussions to             facilitate the group booking and.decision making.
4. Transaction failure, is again a major concern for many people,                system would try to minimize it.
5. Freedom to access complete information.
6. System should be according to user’s choice, freedom to see what        they really want to see, personalization and customization
7. An easy to go task flow and nevigations
8. Minimal UI.
9. User should easile locate their nearby theatres.
10. Infomation should stay in the world, user should not be required to          memorize stuff, high learnability
.

 



 

Some adopted solutions

1. Quick Sorting options, these won't be the filters but          will provide a sorted data as per user input. These          sorting options are by time, theatre and location.

2. A platform to facilitate the group discussions among     a group of friends who would like to see a movie             together. Users would be able to send invites to               other, make suggestions, make remarks about               current movie and share a tentative schedule.
3. Users will have an option to have an account with           service provider with some buffer money which can       be used during slow internet connections to                     prevent transaction failure.

 

4. East to access drop down menues at various levels to            provide extra information.  

5. An option to  put some particular theatre up in list by just     simply choosing them as their favourites. User can               also make their own whish list.
6. User can easily locate their nearby theatres with the              help of GPS, the location of the user can be easily                tracked  hence system can give valuable suggestions.
